On Saturday we watched the BYU vs. UCLA game. The day opened with a rousing family chorus of the Cougar fight song (complete with ra ra ra's). London wore her BYU cheerleader outfit and I wish I had taken a picture, but we still have the rest of the season for that. Tim finally found the time to put the license plate on our car with our newly purchased BYU Alumni license plate holder, lest anyone question our loyalties. Anyway, London is following in her mommy's footsteps and is going to be a GREAT cheerleader! She was great at clapping and holding up her arms in fists and saying "Go Cougars!" but it really sounded more like "Go Cookies!" She's following in her dad's footsteps and has taken a liking to black licorice. She kept begging for it all through the game and throwing major tantrums if she didn't get it! Oh dear. Anyway, for those of you who saw the game, I hope you agree that although the Cougs lost we feel they put up a really decent fight. With so many poor calls even on play reviews, you wonder if the ref's were paid off! Tim says he's more confident about this year's team after this game than the AZ game despite the loss, just because we played so well and got plenty of yardage. We'll definitely whoop 'em next year in Provo.

Pictures from the Wedding
Tim's little sis Megan got married almost 2 weeks ago in Salt Lake. While we were there we celebrated our sixth anniversary (including our first night away from London)! It was wonderful to attend her sealing in the temple and to be with family! Tim was the emcee at the reception and was fabulously entertaining. In my opinion, he stole the show from the bride and groom! All of the sisters wore the same maternity dress even though only two of us are pregnant because it was such a hard color to find. We all wore some sassy high heels too, and I'm still recovering from the blisters! Following their honeymoon they had an open house in Danville. Tim's parents, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew all stayed with us for the weekend to be there. It was certainly a full apartment with six adults and two toddlers and one bathroom, but we had a great time! Here are some pictures--it was one of the most beautifully decorated weddings I've ever been to!
London is 18 months!
London is now 18 months, the official age to attend the nursery at church (which means mom and dad can enjoy 2 hours without trying to corral her)! We took these pictures on her first day of nursery doing some of her favorite things: twirling, hugging, smiling, eating, looking in mom's purse for goodies, playing with shoes, pushing her doll stroller, and running while saying "aaaaaaaaaaah!"

Summertime
Summer is nearing its end and London is getting much more brave when it comes to water sports! Here are some pictures of her playing in the sprinklers at the park. The last one shows her new shoes, which she adores. She used to steal other kids' crocs that were kicked off at the park, but now she has her own! The morning after she got them, first thing she brought them to Tim to put them on her and walked all over the house with them on in her nightgown. I should have taken a picture of that! At church she was showing off her new shoes to anyone and everyone. The shoe fetish has begun...

Promises, Promises
Well, it's been awhile since I've posted, so I thought I'd come up with something. First, I'm happy to see that Tim's treatise on social security sparked some conversation, and second, that we got some input on names. Unfortunately we're still not any closer to settling on one. I don't even think we'll stay with the city theme. Although it is kind of fun I guess when people speculate the reason we named our kid after the city is because that's where the kid was conceived.
Anyway, we were given a gift of some Dove Promises chocolates recently (note: my favorites are See's nut & chews for future reference) and I was surprised to learn they come with jokes on the wrapper. Kind of like laughy taffy for the more sophisticated. Granted, these "Promises Messages" are, I presume, directed toward the audience of the single, middle-aged female, Lifetime movie-watching, drown-my-loneliness-in-chocolate-eating, body-loathing, spanx-sporting, bubble-bath-taking variety, but I found them intriguing nonetheless. Here is a sampler, with my thoughts:
1. "Watch reruns, they replay your memories." Let's see, I don't remember loitering at the Max with Zach and Screech, or getting teased by my brother, Theo, or singing "it's a sunshine day" with the Brady's, do you?
2. "Go to your special place." Maybe I'll try London's Elmo tent. Works for her.
3. "When two hearts race, both win." Now that's just silly. They're comparing love to the special olympics.
4. "There's a time for compromise...it's called later." This is just a ploy to get you to eat more of their chocolate.
5. "Hey, why not?" Still trying to get you to eat more chocolate.
6. "Remember your first everything." Why are we trying to live in the past? Especially when our "firsts" can never compare with those reruns, come on!
7. "You know what? You look good in red." Thanks, Dove, for loving me despite my acne problem!
8. "Smile before bed. You'll sleep better." I'll have to try that. I didn't know smiling somehow expands your bladder.
9. "Keep the promises you make to yourself." Like, "I swear, I'm going to work out tomorrow." Again, marketing their chocolate!
10. "Sing along with the elevator music." I've thought this one over, and can't figure out how to sing along with something that has no melody!
