Here's the Latest:

I've noticed that the readership, or at least the comments, have waned since we've waxed political. Is this due to the fact that our friends and family a) don't care about the issues, b) disagree with our opinions, or c) just want to see pictures of cute kids? For those of you who chose "c," fine, here you go.

New teeth: two on the bottom, one on the top, and more coming in. She looks pretty darn happy--you'd never guess she's waking up several times a night, would you?
London has finally mastered the "twirly" slide. Last week we were at the park when she announced she would go down the twirly slide all by herself. She climbed to the top, psyched herself up, and, despite my encouragement, chickened out and cried. This cycle repeated several times, until finally she took the plunge while I wasn't looking. She was so proud of herself, she went down about 30 more times!

This is London's best friend, Ella. Just about every day, when I tell London what we're going to do that day, she'll ask, "With Ella?" She'll usually bring a toy or snack and announce "I bring my (whatever it is) to share with Ella." Cute, huh? (Except in this picture, she's taking some of Ella's snack instead of sharing)

So there are your cute kid pictures. Now indulge me. This morning while I was lifting weights at the gym, I couldn't help but overhear some gentlemen discussing the stock market tank and the recent bail-out. I didn't say anything and endured the conversation until I could stand it no longer. One of them said something like, "it's these Republicans who let the free market run wild who are responsible for all this!" I put my weights down and said "That's bologna!" (I'm kind of embarrassed that I said that but not that I know how to spell it. Yes, I know need to work on my verbal debate style). I then attempted to explain what really happened and was pleased to find a couple of other dudes in the room--who were silent before--agreed with me. We just need more people who are willing to say it out loud. I think it's the same thing with Prop 8. Because of what people see in the media, they think that more people are pro-same-sex marriage than actually are. People with liberal views just tend to be louder about it. Free speech goes both ways!

yeah! i just want pictures of cute kids! i'll admit it! thanks for indulging me, now to indulge you right back! i overheard a conversation waiting in line at target regarding prop 8. everyone in the line including the checker we spouting... "they aren't hurting anyone so who cares." i muttered under my breath! "i care!" but then had the rest of the conversation in my head because they all turned to look at me as if to say... "did you say something?" if i had said something i would have finished with... "it hurts our creator!" and been done with it. i just feel like they didn't deserve my breath. i know, i should have spoke up, but we live too close to san francisco and i didn't want my tires popped!

My vote is mix it up :). Cute kids and some commentary makes for an interesting blog, don't be afraid to saywhat you feel is important. Of course, some want levity along with their dose of thoughtful opinion. On my blog, I try to do both where and when I can (and don't worry, my political commentaries don't get many comments either, thought my "Vengeance Vote" article just might for a change (LOL!) ).

I agree mixing it up is great. Your kids are so darn cute I'd like to see them too. I also admire you for standing up when it comes to politics and beliefs. You are a wonderful role model. Keep it up.

Trent and I totally agree with all that you have posted about this ridiculous political & economic situation we are in. You are right - liberals are just LOUD about their opinions - which for some reason makes them feel like they are right. Kind of toddler-ish if you ask me....who screams loudest ends up with the toy, right? It drives me CRAZY.

Anyway, I'm proud of you for standing up and saying something - even if you did use the term "bologna". Too funny. I bet those guys won't forget you!

And as far as the lack of comments - my blog is experiencing some waning in that area as well - but I think it's just cause I'm a boring person maybe. At least you have interesting things to say!

Ella loves London too and we feel so blessed to have you as friends. You have a lot of courage and I really admire your adility to speak up, even if you do reference cheap lunch meat:)
I posted a picture for you on my blog today. Cheers.

1) I do care about the issues, and I love to read your political posts.
2) I agree with you on your political opinions.
3)It's great to see some pic's of the cute girls. I love how Eden is laughing in the first pic... so cute! You have beautiful girls.

BTW, I too admire you for having the ablity to speak up against these LOUD liberals. I know that I could try, but I'd sound like a bloomin' idiot, because when I get so upset about things like politics, I just get tongue tied. So thanks for being able to put our opinion out there too.

I love the photos of the girls. And, I'm grateful that you spoke up at the gym. It can be intimidating. I agree that people with liberal views tend to be so much more open and loud about it. Why is that?

Hmmm...pot calling the kettle black, don't you think?

As I recall it was not the "loud liberals" YELLING out at recent political rallies to "kill" the opposing candidate. It is not the "loud liberals" SHOUTING (in desperation I may add) about corollaries between the opposing candidate and a 1960's terrorist organization..corollaries so illogical and untrue that they are laughable. It is not the "loud liberals" who avoid words altogether and go straight to violence and hate crimes like bombing abortion clinics or attacking homosexuals.

We may be "loud" but at least we are articulate and don't need to resort to hate-filled rhetoric.

By the way...I bet if we took a poll of all the greedy CEOs on Wall Street who steered this country in an economic downward spiral, you would find very few "loud liberals." Remember what administration is still, unfortunately, at the helm.

Hey, it's your blog and you should be able to say whatever the heck you want on your blog! Besides, I totally agree with your political insights. I'm watching the debates and watching obama is just downright painful.

Kerry and Dave,

Thank you for proving me wrong in my thoughts about Conservatives with your detailed and thoughtful assessment about Obama. I will be sure to use your highly original and explanatory turn of phrase of "downright painful" in all upcoming political debates.

I stand by my original argument: we liberals may be loud but at least we form articulate arguments!

We love your political posts. It helps us to see that there are other people out there that care where our country is headed. There is a guy in our ward/Scott's work that has made some great videos on youtube. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=davidkat99

Enjoy! Natalie
